At the start of 2016 Entropie was awarded the IT Data Fit Out package by Buckingham Group Contracting for DHL’s new Express Hub facility at Heathrow
The 150,000-sq. ft. state of the art facility was completed towards the end of last year, will eventually be home to 750 employees and manage DHL Express shipments for the South East of England. The new site also brings together DHL’s Distribution Centre, Service Centre and Head Office all under one purpose built facility.
Entropie commissioned the entire IT data cabling infrastructure for all areas of the facility including connections for offices, communication rooms, warehousing, automated hub areas and also connectivity for perimeter security.
The project was challenging in many ways and our team worked closely with all nominated contractors including BT’s Enterprise IT Network teams, to help successfully deliver the final commissioning of the data infrastructure package on time and on budget.

On final completion Entropie installed a total of 2,400 Cat6 outlets, 45 data cabinets and terminated approximately 2000 fibre optic backbone connections. This amounted to over 160 km of data cables installed for the entire structured data package scheme!
